“Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn.” – O. Fred Donaldson
At our playcentre, children learn about different colours and textures, different odours and tastes, different noises and sounds, different animals and plants, different places and situations. They learn how to be safe and strong. They learn the importance of being healthy and how to tae good care of themselves. They learn not only to read but, more importantly, to love reading. They learn Math and Science. They learn not only to talk but how to effectively communicate all their ideas and emotions. They learn how to relate and interact with other people. And as early as before they meet their future classmates and teachers at schools, they already know how to respect and value their friendships and relationships with adults and children alike.
All of these happen not through strict implementations of any classroom rules and lesson plans. All of these happen through spontaneous and child-initiated plays with the loving guidance of their own parents and guardians.
